Our Current Series: Philippians
We are going through Paul's letter to the Philippians. Below are some resources for you to consider for your personal study. Just a note: You may not agree with everything in any of the books, especially if you read more than one. Please remember these are commentaries, and thus include the personal opinions of the authors. Start with prayer, read the text, then read a commentary or two and go through one of the Bible studies. Our vision is that people, yes you!, will become theologians and not just consumers of a weekly message from the pastor. So pray, read, study, enjoy, learn and be transformed!

General Bible and Theology Resources:
Study Bibles:
Please remember that all Study Bibles reflect the opinions of their author(s). Within the framework of Christianity people can read the same text and come to differing conclusions. Thus any Study Bible should serve as a source of cultural/historic context and theologically as a guide for deeper exploration, rather than the source of unquestioned truth about the Scriptures.
- The ESV Study Bible and/or The NKJV Study Bible
- We recommend that you read the ESV Study Bible and/or the NKJV Study Bible in its entirety. This will take a while, however you find that it is a great learning experience. The ESV Study Bible is from a Reformed perspective, so the NKJV Study Bible will provide some balanced perspective. The NKJV Study Bible does not have anywhere near the number of theology and background articles as the ESV Study Bible, thus a person would benefit by having both if possible.
Here are some other Study Bibles that you may already own, and/or prefer to the Bibles above, which would also be profitable for you to read through, and use as a reference.
- The NLT Study Bible
- The NIV Study Bible
- Life Application Bible: NIV, NASB, NKJV, NLT
- MacArthur Study Bible:ESV, NKJV, NASB
- NASB Zondervan Study Bible
